Speaking in China - CFC 2008

Aug 18, 2009

A few months back Sprite Guo (China Forensic Solutions Co Ltd) asked if I would come to Beijing to be a speaker at his Conference, The 2008 China Computer Forensic Conference. I was honored and accepted the invitiation, next thing you know I'm enroute to Beijing putting the finishing touches on my presentation:

On the whole I believe the presentation was well received, I have precious little mandarin skills to speak of, but thankfully between Sprite, some of the attendees, and the assigned translators, it appears the key points came across.

The presentation focused on live forensics not so much as a new concept, but as a return to the traditional evidence collection concepts of the physical world. I'll save the details of the presentation for later, as I will be giving a modified version of it both at the HTCIA Asia Pacific Conference tomorrow (Dec 13) and as a keynote later this year back in the US.

In addition to the presentation and associated workshops I was involved in, I received the most value from speaking with the other presenters. Sprite clearly brings in the best, as Paul Jackson (HK Police, HTCIA Asia President), Andy Rosen (ASR Data, SMART), Stefan Fleischmann (X-Ways), and Peter Mercer (Intella) were just some of the other speakers I had the pleasure to meet and talk with at this conference.

So, thanks Sprite, you put on a wonderful conference and are an extremely gracious host.

Next stop, Hong Kong and HTCIA Asia Pacific!

Warmest Regards,
